Is it possible to gain trust after cheating? Most likely if you have landed on this page; then you are in a troubled relationship. If you have made a mistake and cheated on your partner; then you may already believe that there is no hope for your relationship to continue.

2. Honesty: Be completely honest with them about the whole situation. Do not try to lie about anything; remember you are trying to gain trust back after cheating. You can not rebuild your relationship on a lie and if you try to then you will not have any success.
3. Time: Give your partner some time to think about whether they want to work on the relationship or not. Remember you are the one who betrayed the trust and you have to be willing to give them all the time that they need to decide whether they want to work on the relationship or not.
4. Counseling: If they suggest counseling then you should be willing to go and talk about your issues. You have to open and honest about why you decided to go outside the relationship and find sex elsewhere.
